Source #1

Family- I find it interesting how families interact with each other and the different roles that each family member plays. Also how death, divorce and secrets can all of a sudden change and destroy a family.

launching the imagination

In the book launching from the imagination it discusses the importance of time to photographers, book artists and film makers. It allows artists to tell a story, meanings to unfold and to express an idea. There are also building blocks and they are; relationships and transitions. Cut, fade, wipe and dissolve are different kinds of transitions you can use. It is also important to have a setting, a duration of the film, performance or video, to scope and have intensity. I feel that in order need to pull it all together and to make it work you need to have these four important elements.

sound

From reading the film analysis about sound. I learned that there are many different kinds of sounds and that they play many different kinds roles in films. One type of sound is called sound bridge and that is when a sound from a previous scene carries over into the next scene. This usually happens at the end of the scene and comes in and out of the film. Another kind of sound is direct sound and that is when music, speech or noise is directly recorded into the film. Also a voice over is when you hear a characters voice but when you look at the image of the character and you don't actually see him speaking. Lastly after reading about all these sounds I feel like some of them are familiar to each other.
